Notes

Writing from the build.

Platform notes from the division: topology, operations, and what the fleet teaches us.

One DNS authority, eight zones

vagarylabs.com moved from its registrar's nameservers to the single Cloudflare authority the rest of the fleet runs under — DNSSEC, mail, and MTA-STS wired in the same cutover.

Topology convergence: one console, one namespace

The platform retired duplicated console concepts and folded the fleet into a single derived navigation — the registry, not a hand-maintained menu, now answers where anything lives.

Observability as a product requirement

Every product surface ships with a monitor, a blackbox probe, and an error project before it goes live — not after an incident proves they are missing.

The console converges: four lenses, one shell

The operator console split across thirteen system logins folds into one shell with executive, operations, engineering, and knowledge lenses — the four-lens interface is already shipping live.

The product core is live: multi-tenancy proven

The shared product core reached converged-live: baseline multi-tenancy is in, isolation is proven, and the capability catalog that the console's product lens reads is the same one the API reference documents.

Backups as a contract, not a chore

Encrypted restic backups initialized across the fleet turned restore-from-git into a documented property of the platform — the same discipline applied to every other contract.
