This Cookie Policy explains how Vagary Labs LLP ("Vagary Labs LLP", "we", "our", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies across our products and services operated under the Vagary Labs technology and R&D division (Vagary Voice, Bellring, Aakhara, Pulseboard, the Vagary Platform substrate, and the company website at vagarylabs.com). It complements our Privacy Policy; defined terms have the meanings given there.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. We also use similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDK identifiers — that perform comparable functions. In this policy we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies".
Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them). They can also be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another domain whose service is loaded on the page you are visiting).
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential to operate our services and cannot be switched off. They support authentication, session management, security (CSRF protection, rate limiting), and load balancing. On vagarylabs.com no cookie is set on an ordinary visit; if Cloudflare's edge network challenges a request as part of bot-management or security filtering, it may set the cookies listed in Section 4 for that visit. The site has no accounts and no sessions of its own.
3.2 Performance and analytics
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our services so we can improve them. They collect information in aggregate form.
vagarylabs.com does not currently run Google Analytics, PostHog, or any other performance or analytics script, and sets no cookie in this category. Individual products may run analytics on their own domains; where they do, that product's own cookie notice describes it.
If we introduce a performance or analytics cookie on vagarylabs.com in the future, we will only set it after you have given consent, consistent with the consent-based lawful basis for optional analytics cookies described in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
3.3 Functional
These cookies remember choices you make (language, theme, region) to provide a more personalised experience. Disabling them does not break the service but may degrade quality-of-life. vagarylabs.com sets none, and stores no preference of any kind.
3.4 Advertising and marketing
We do not use advertising, marketing or cross-context behavioural-advertising cookies on vagarylabs.com. This site carries no advertising.
The Vagary Platform vertical sites — indexofnews.com, attorneyatlas.com and attorneyatlas.us — are free to read and funded by advertising. Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-8413532915493704) and Google Tag Manager run on those domains and set advertising and measurement identifiers there. Those sites publish their own cookie notice, which governs that processing; the statements in this policy about vagarylabs.com's cookie use do not describe those sites.
4. Specific Cookies Set
vagarylabs.com sets no cookie on an ordinary visit. The table below lists the only cookies that can be set here, and when. Individual products may set additional cookies declared in their own product-level notices.

vagarylabs.com is a static site with no backend. It sets no authentication or session cookie of its own; product surfaces set their own, declared in their own notices.
5. Third-Party Cookies and Sub-Processors
Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us. These third parties act as data processors or independent controllers, depending on the service. Representative third parties:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN, bot management, security, and the Turnstile widget that screens submissions on our Contact page for spam) — see cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. Turnstile runs as a script from
challenges.cloudflare.com; it does not set a cookie on vagarylabs.com itself. - Google LLC (Google AdSense and Google Tag Manager) — advertising delivery, measurement and tag management on the Vagary Platform vertical sites only, not on vagarylabs.com. We do not control cookies set by third parties on websites you visit through outbound links from our services. Please review the cookie notices of those sites separately.
6. How to Control Cookies
6.1 On vagarylabs.com
vagarylabs.com sets no non-essential cookie, so there is no consent banner and no "Cookie settings" control on this site: there is nothing to switch on or off. If we introduce an optional (non-essential) cookie in the future, we will only set it after you have given consent — consistent with Section 3.2 above and with the consent-based lawful basis for optional analytics cookies described in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy — and we will update this page's Effective Date and describe the control available to you at that time.
6.1.1 In other products
Other products operate their own consent controls, which differ from the one described above and are documented in each product's own cookie notice. In particular, the Vagary Platform vertical sites carry advertising (Section 3.4); nothing in this section describes their behaviour.
6.2 In your browser
All modern browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will degrade or break our services; blocking analytics or functional cookies will not.
6.3 Provider-level opt-outs
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google advertising (Vagary Platform vertical sites): adjust or turn off personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.
7. Your Rights
Cookies that process personal data are covered by our Privacy Policy. Subject to applicable law — including the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP); the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); the UK Data Protection Act 2018 (UK-DPA); and the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA / CPRA) — you may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection over the personal data processed via cookies. 8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry consensus on how DNT should be honoured and no law requires it, so we do not change our behaviour in response to a DNT signal at this time.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a recognised opt-out mechanism under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under the other US state privacy laws that require universal opt-out mechanisms to be respected. vagarylabs.com sets no non-essential cookie and runs no analytics or advertising technology, so there is nothing for a GPC signal to opt you out of on this site today. If we introduce an optional cookie as described in Section 6.1, we will honour a GPC signal as a standing opt-out for it.
This section describes vagarylabs.com. The Vagary Platform vertical sites named in Section 3.4 carry third-party advertising and publish their own cookie notice, including their own description of how they respond to a GPC signal.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
